Scaffolding & Security

9 February 2022

Due to the nature of the works and the areas operatives require direct access to, occupants will be unable to use their balcony areas for the duration of the works. Your balcony becomes part of our working construction site and will be unsafe for general use.

For the purposes of Health and Safety we will be required to secure an appointment to fix a lock to your doors or alternatively the door will have to be locked from the exterior. All keys are proposed to be held in a locked box by the Concierge.

Our Resident Liaison Officer will be making appointments for this to be undertaken once the scaffold has been completed. The building will be completed in phases to minimise disruption (see later slide – Works Phasing Plan) and we will endeavor to keep any inconvenience to a minimum.

The anticipated timescale for loss of balcony use is approximately 40 weeks.
Blue fire retardant debris netting will be in place to the front of the scaffold for the duration to deter any falling building debris.

A scaffold alarm will be installed to all scaffold lifts which will be remotely monitored by a specialist firm. The alarm will be interlinked to the main fire alarm system.

Shrink wrapping will be applied to the parapets to ensure the building is protected from weather elements.
