Fire notice to All Residents

Dear Resident

As you may be aware the cladding system at the building will be replaced and a new fire alarm system installed. In the interim it is important for all residents to read the information below.

Fire Safety Awareness

  • Smoking should not take place in the common parts of the building or on any balcony.
  • No BBQ’s , heaters or any other fire ignition source are allowed on the balconies.
  • Any items left in the common areas of the building will be removed without notice.
  • All communal fire doors should close automatically and be shut. If you find any of the doors being left open, please report to the concierge team immediately.
  • There are five staircases – please ensure you familiarize yourself with your nearest route of exit from the building.
  • Please notify MIH Property Management of any difficulty in using such exits.
  • Your flat front door is the owner of the flat’s responsibility. You should ensure that they or you (if you are the owner of the flat) have the door checked for fire safety purposes. Guidance can be found at www.firesafe.org.uk/fire-doors

Action – In the event of a fire

  • In the event of a fire from inside your flat please evacuate the flat immediately shutting your front door behind you.
  • Call the Concierge on 0743 2839 319 and notify them giving them the flat number and location.
  • If you hear an alarm in another flat or notice a fire anywhere – Call the Concierge on
  • 0743 2839 319 and notify them giving the flat number and location.
  • Evacuate the building using one of the emergency exits. Whilst leaving please alert other residents where possible, raising your voice shouting ‘fire’ whilst you are exiting the building.
  • Please call the fire brigade immediately by calling the fire brigade on 999, quoting the name of the building and provide a contact number.

Day to Day Precautions

  • The concierge team have been instructed to patrol the building every hour taking note of any issues that may arise in respect to fire safety.
  • Between 10pm and 7am each night an additional member of the concierge team will be at the building patrollng the external and internal circumference of the building, twice every hour to check for any issues – smoke/fire, alarms and/or possible ignition sources.
  • At all times residents are asked to assist by being vigilant in terms of fire safety and report to the concierge team any potential fire issues.

The safety of all residents is paramount to us.
Under no circumstances should you put yourself in danger.
