Due to the good progression of the scaffold erection and other works within Phase 1 we are in a position to expedite some of the scaffolding for Phase 2 earlier than previously planned. The work we intend to bring forward is the first lift of scaffolding above the pavement area on Southwark Bridge Road. The benefit of putting this lift up now will allow us to install the hoarding, lights and signage which will save us time later on in the works phase and ensure minimal disruption to the commercial and retail units on the ground floor. All affected residents will be notified by email / letter prior to these works commencing.
Balcony lock change appointments are now in progress and letters have been provided to secure appointments. We would ask for your co-operation in providing access for this 20 minute appointment to avoid any programme delays.
Stripping off of the exisiting cladding to the pilot area has commenced. Any areas which cannot be recovered in a working day will be protected with fire rated polythene as per the progress photograph attached. All balconies are being protected with fire rated correx sheeting.
