Phase 1 internal vent works are making good progress. As a reminder to all residents, and following on from our previous letters we have included the below information about the vent works and boxing.
In order to install the new rigid steel non-combustible extract ductwork through the cladding system, to achieve compliance this needs to pass through at least 100 mm through to the internal surface of the room then can extend vertically to go into the ceiling void.
There is no archetypes with the flats and therefore the extend of internal boxing required will need to be assessed on a case-by-case basis.
We anticipate where that where there is no internal boxing, the approximate size of the new boxing is likely to be approximately (400 mm height, 300 mm wide, 150 mm deep). This will be located on the internal side of the external wall at high level adjacent to wall/window reveals. The exact area of the boxing will be confirmed on the first morning of the works when we attend your property.
